An Investigation of Response of the Tropical Cyclone Ockhi in the Equatorial Ionosphere over the Indian region

Background/Objectives: The ionospheric response to the tropical cyclone (TC) OCKHI of December 2017 in equatorial region is presented study. Methods/Statistical analysis: includes a change Total Electron Content (TEC) utilized using stations Tirunelveli and Bangalore. critical frequency (foF2) from Ionosonde over station also considered study TC effect F2 ionosphere. Findings: It has been observed that significant changes ionosphere exhibits during OCKHI. They are: Ionospheric parameter vertical total electron content (VTEC) varies (i.e. Day 332 336 year 2017) as center near (8.7º N, 77.8º E) same follows for IGS In addition, ionosonde measurements foF2 perceived local night time support TEC decrease noted when attains its peak on 01 2017. Novelty/Applications: Using data ionosphere, such behavior may not be reported earlier best my knowledge. gravity wave induced by Ockhi redistributes element due strong convection lightning activity.
